Like our furry counterparts, we virtual felines are also nocturnal and need a place to prowl after midnight. I have discovered - and want to pass along to my fellow nocturnal creatures among you - that the Law School is open 24 hours to the Law School community. You can get in to the Law School by swiping your ID in the automatic door which is in the corner in the front patio.

21st Century Library workshops, Wednesday, March 2
You're in federal court based on a federal statute and you need to know what did Congress mean when it wrote that law. Horrors! Legislative intent and that means compiling a legislative history. Never fear, Congressional Universe to the rescue. Wednesday, March 2nd at 11:10 AM in the lower level computer lab is a workshop demonstrating this resource.
Another case, another information need, but this time it is a statistical query. How to start? Where to go? You saw it mentioned in a news article, but where did the reporter get the number? Wednesday, March 2nd at 12:10 PM in the lower level computer lab is a workshop on finding statistics on the web.

Results of Survey on Quiet Area Suggestion
Although not unanimous, the overwhelming response concerning the suggestion to make one of the rooms in the Library a laptop-free zone, was against the idea. Consequently, laptops are still welcome in the room off to the left of the Periodicals area - as well as everywhere else in the Library.
Thanks for your input - both in making the suggestion as well as commenting on it. Your feedback is the best way for me to get a sense of your concerns and to pass them along. By the way, I did pass along your requests for more power outlets. The Library is hoping to get new furniture after the end of the semester. Once that happens, we can plan more logically for convenient outlet placement.
Keep those suggestions and comments coming. My only request - please refrain from negative comments about individual humans or felines. I hate having to fluff out my virtual fur.
