Tired of all the polls, predictions and other political chatter of the U.S. media? For some fun and a different perspective, check out Graphic Detail from the Economist. This blog is one of my favorites. A creation of the respected UK economics and politics magazine, Graphic Detail is a gold mine of "Charts, Maps and Infographics" illustrating issues in the news, projections, worldwide statistics, and just plain fascinating facts. It graphically presents everything from the use of language in Presidential debates and effective tax rates around the world to James Bond film comparisons and a "Global Debt Clock." In addition to its "Daily Chart" posts, Graphic Detail also includes interactive data features from the Economist and provides links to other interesting data on the web.

Let the Space Race begin
All of you know how much of a fan of DropBox (the great cloud-based storage site) I am. Well it turns out DropBox is a fan of academia. For all of us in the world of higher education, we can earn up to 3GB extra space, plus possible extra space depending upon how many other Hofstra accounts sign up.
And it's easy (as DropBox always is). Go to DropBox - Great Space Race and either register or sign in with your existing account. If you invite friends and they join DropBox, Hofstra earns points. The more points Hofstra earns, the more space we all get.
If you need an invite, comment to this post or ask your favorite Reference librarian.

All My Faves
All My Faves is a site that attempts to collect and organize the best sites on the world wide web. There are many topics such as email, video, maps news and "weekly faves". Or, one can sort by categories such as education, shopping, travel, etc.
The website does not tell you who is gathering the sites, criteria for "best" and how the decisions are made, but it is an interesting collection and demonstrates how many options are available.

Bluebook Format Options
As many of you know, the Bluebook is available in several formats including print, online and the newest addition is an app. LLRX recently published an article entitled "Bluebook Technologies" discussing the features and pricing of each option. Many of us might prefer the print but with the other options it is easy to have access anywhere (especially for busy law students) without having to lug the book around. The article also provides a quick comparison chart for quick reference. Click here for the full article.
