Don't give a fake number, just a temporary one!
Have you ever wished that someone didn't have your number? A new iPhone app, Burner, allows you to pay for a temporary number that works with your current iPhone, so you can give a number (not your permanent one) to acquaintances you want to stay that way, social networking sites or just because! As with most information now, once it is out there, there is no taking it back!
Read more about the $1.99 temporary iPhone app, Burner here: http://on.mash.to/MCieUR

Don't Miss 'Activist New York'
Summer for law students is almost over, but Activist New York is ongoing and would be a great way to spend a few hours in Manhattan this fall, as the Hofstra campus looks forward to hosting another Presidential Debate. The first exhibit ever shown in the Museum of the City of New York's new Puffin Foundation Gallery, Activist New York features photos, artifacts, and interactive installations demonstrating how citizen activism--social, religious, and political--has shaped New York City from the seventeenth century to the present. Fourteen protest eras and issues are featured, from religious freedom for Quakers in colonial times to the present-day conflict over the building of an Islamic cultural center near Ground Zero. Abolition and women's voting rights are represented, along with conservative activism, the civil rights, gay rights, and historic preservation movements, and more. Enjoy!

Olympic Games Law
Behind the stunning opening ceremonies and the athletic contests of the 2012 Summer Olympic Games stands a special body of laws, regulations, and committees, and a special court designed to handle the unique problems and disputes arising from the Games--doping, sponsors, endorsements, merchandising, eligibility, and more. Georgetown Law Library has just published its Olympics and International Sports Law Research Guide, which covers documents, web sites, and other key resources for this specialized topic, including the Court of Arbitration for Sport. In addition, New York University School of Law's GlobaLex site has a detailed research guide on International Sports Law, and the Peace Palace Library offers introductions, bibliographies, links, and other resources on its two related research guides: Sports and Olympic Games. Finally, the Law Library of Congress has summarized and linked the UK's special statutes enacted to govern the Olympic Games. All of these resources are worth a look if you are curious about the law behind the scenes in London this summer.
