Blawgs with International Views

While American law students taking exams this week are focused with laser beam intensity on American law, their legal world is increasingly global. Foreign and internationally-focused legal blogs are great tools for mining the latest news and trends from across the world. For example, the London Times recently launched its own “Law Weblog” that continually updates legal issues and practice trends in the UK, corporate and criminal justice news from a UK perspective, and UK law student life. "Opinio Juris", a blog “dedicated to reports, commentary, and debate on current developments and scholarship in the fields of international law and politics” casts a wide net, from international tribunals to security, trade, economics and the environment. Finally, for those either joining the Australia Summer Law Program or curious about the legal world “down under,” there is “Australian Legal Eye,” with news and perspective from that corner of the world.

More on Blawgs

Legal blogs - a.k.a. "blawgs" - have hit the big time. They have been cited to in cases. You will find a listing of cases citing legal blogs at our old friend 3L Epiphany (home of Taxonomy of Legal Blogs which I mentioned in March ) .

Guide to State Statistical Abstracts

Those who require statistical information from and about the fifty states should find this online Guide to State Statistical Abstracts to be of value.

From the Web site:

"This bibliography from an appendix in the Statistical Abstract of the United States includes the most recent statistical abstracts for states published since 1997 plus those that will be issued in late 2005. For some states, a near equivalent has been listed in substitution for, or in addition to, a statistical abstract".

Warwick & Seltz specialize in Pizza Law! No longer suffer mediocre pizza and discover your pizza rights! OK, it is not really a law firm, so don't bother sending them a job application. Search the site for the "Click Here for Better Pizza" link to find out who sponsors this site.

Law Student Blog

I found a well written, humorous, interesting blog by a 1L law student named Supra called Above. Under the title of the blog it says "A girl in the law school world". I think anyone currently in law school or who has ever attended law school will find it an enjoyable read.
