Welcome to the Virtual Library Cat's Eye View

I am Ernster , the Virtual Library Cat. When I am not engaged in my statutorily required 18 hours (minimum) of napping (see 51 USCA t 13), I am ensuring the smooth operation of the Deane Law Library.

I will make sure you get the Cat's-Eye-View of what is happening in the Library. I also have the answer (42), to the question of Life, the Universe and Everything. So, feel free to ask.

Looking forward to purring with you.

Ernster, the Virtual Library Cat

very cute, but why the name Ernster?

A research question of some intrigue. I am named in honor of one of the furry (as opposed to virtual) variety of feline. For more detail, visit your favorite Reference Librarian.

How cute and how clever to have a cat represent our library, but I think that it's only fair that we have a dog as a part of our virtual menagerie too!!!

My view on dogs was best expressed by T.S. Eliot.
"a Dog is, on the whole,
What you would call a simple soul."

Nonetheless, I consider myself open-minded. So, if you know of any virtual dogs who are interested, please refer them to Canine Resources to apply.

Marlon,
I could not have stated our purpose better myself. Thanks for your support and that coveted Bookmark. Please use it often and pass the word around. Oh, and don't be shy about posting. We want to hear from you as much as getting the word out to you.

I have a question.
Does anyone know what quality points are, listed next to our final grades?

An interesting question. This is not an issue in the Library's area, so I cannot give you an immediate answer. I am investigating and will hopefully have more information soon.

The expert on this question is Dean Daniels in the Registrar's office. She has kindly offered to explain the details and sugggests that you drop by the Registrar's office. FYI - quality points are mentioned in the Law School Academic Regulations in section 1.

Could you put up a full content RSS/Atom feed for this blog? I like the concept, but I would see literally every post if it was in my RSS aggregator.

Also, a class or a post about using RSS would likely be helpful for the vast majority of students who do not know about it. Personally, I like NetNewsWire on the Mac as an aggregator.
